Micropore tape is something every mushroom grower should have. We use it regularly ourselves so we know it works great. This 3 inch filter tape can be placed over holes with a diameter of 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" for best results. Painters tape is then placed over the micropore tape until the monotub is fully colonized and mushrooms are starting to pin at which point the painters tape is removed to let air circulate. A monotub does not need air until it starts pinning. If you don't use painters tape over the filter tape then the monotub will dry out prematurely and produce smaller fruits and much smaller yields.
