We're Getting Greener
As our business grows we have made a commitment to becoming a greener company. We ship 100% of our orders and are taking measures to make things greener.
A few of the things we have done are:
- Reduced the use of Bubble Wrap by 95%
- We are using recycled newsprint paper to pack most of our orders
- We are reusing our supplier packing materials such as bubble pouches so they are not single use
- Most Mailing Pouches are now 50% Kraft paper instead of 100% plastic
- We use only paper packing tape on all of our shipping boxes
- We have been combining orders so we get less shipments from our suppliers
Unfortunately it is impossible to remove all plastic from our operation but we are committed to searching for greener alternatives when they become available.
We have considered using biodegradable mushroom grow bags but they are only biodegradable when exposed to constant sunlight over a long period of time which will never happen in a landfill. We decided against biodegradable grow bags for this very reason and the added cost would have increased our prices.
